Lacy was introduced to massage therapy while searching for a career in health care. She felt a profession focused on prevention as well as rehabilitation would allow her to provide the best service to society. Lacy travelled from the Kootenays to attend the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. While at school she worked with a diverse clientele in a public clinic and at various outreaches including George Pearson Centre, Burnaby Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital. She received training in spinal and regional orthopedics, myofascial release techniques, cranio sacral therapy and manual lymphatic drainage.
